As a single person, I once thought that finding my purpose in life would only come through marriage.
Today I have a different opinion.
I believe there are clues within ourselves that point us to our gifts, the very thing(s) God has entrusted to each of us. It is in the development of these gifts that we walk into our purpose for which we were created.
As I consider my own life, I clearly see that faith is one of my gifts. And over the course of the last 17 years, I have been developing and refining this gift. What once began as a seemingly powerless confession, accepting Jesus as my Savior, has turned into a full-fledged belief in an unseen God – His protection, guidance & provision.
At the time, I didn’t realize that I had a choice to make…be content with a confession for salvation or develop my faith. I choose the latter. I took the faith, as small as a mustard seed, and have multiplied it to include salvation for my entire family, healing in my body, peace in my life…
So today I ask you to consider what are your gifts, talents or passions?
What are you doing in the meantime, before stepping into that powerhouse marriage? Are you sad and trying to make it happen by being a serial dater, being lazy, feeling entitled, without any effort on your part? Are you hiding your talents until your husband comes along? Or are you multiplying your talents for the kingdom of God?
I encourage you to brush off your talents and begin multiplying them today for the kingdom of God.
You don’t have to have all the answers and it doesn’t have to be perfect, the refinement and development of yourself and the gift will come as you step out.
